Sometimes people ask why we don't write often like before. Sometimes it's hard to put things into words that does not offends others and being positive always. The power of words if we are careless can cut others unknowingly. We have always believe that if we have nothing good to say it's best to be quiet...let the work we do speak by itself.
Alhamdulilah, those who have been with us since 2012 is still continue to be our pillar and we can't be more thankful for it. In 2 days we have received pledges of about 26bags worth of $30 each. Hopefully we can continue to reach our target numbers with a bit more to spare...
So let's spread word of kindness and positivity today and always!
Since 5years ago...the last 2months we hv been soo quiet...it's deafening!
Nobody knows why...but we need the break.
People think we no longer care ...but we need the break.
Some feel and assume we are broken...but we need the break.
In silence it does not mean nothing happens.
Distribution still happens.
Contribution still happens.
Recepeints still happens.
What didn't happen was...news, updates, events, noise.
Sometimes you need to be quiet to think and reflect.
Sometimes you need to be quiet to plan and strategies.
Sometimes you need to be quiet to form connections and let go...
No one can pour from an empty cup/soul...
What we do at #FTPC admist our daily routine..we needed that time to show appreciation and honour the people around us.
But now we are back.
Yes we are.
More distribution. More events. More Connections.
All of this is because of your encouragements. You ask for these and we adhere because deep within us we miss it also!
So stay tune for the 1st distribution in 2017 on Sunday 19th March 2017 at 10am at Blk 3 Telok Blangah Crescent.
More details coming soon!
Stay time k!
Have a wonderful & marvellous Monday ahead peeps!
One of the deep secrets of life is that all that is really worth the doing is what we do for others. ~ Lewis Carroll
Last Sunday we have packed 100bags of groceries to be given out to intended recepeints on our carelist.
Why not random door knocking? Because as we keep on doing this our list of beneficiaries grew month after months.
Some write in themselves. Some was written by concern neighbours, cousins, social workers. Yes even social workers write to us to aid families in urgent need because it takes a while for the system to 'verify' them and give aid to them. Such irony. Then how come we dun need to verify the recepeints? Do we Juz shove these bags to any Tom Dick or Harry?
No we do hv a assessment procedure but when you have nothing in your kitchen and you hv a baby to feed we normally trust our gut feeling and it's seldom wrong. But when it's otherwise, we learn our lesson n we move on. Life is too short to make a mountain out of a molehill. If you need to pretend to gain a bag from us , we can only pity you because there is so much beauty and satisfaction in living independently.
But Alhamdulilah our recepeints are not like that. They are open and transparent in their situation because this is temporarily hiccups in life... and they will rise above this... we all do! None of our work and effort will ever go so far without the help of our contributors. They have been supporting us all this while. Their trust and support will never be taken lightly. They are the backbone who allows us to to what we love monthly. Have money and have groceries but without the hardwork of our voluntèers how does one progress? Luckily we hv lots of Volunteers who understand our limitations and yet still comes forward to assist.
Recently many of our volunteers are upset because we no longer hold mass packing and distribution like before. In sha Allah we will when the numbers of bags arises. We cannot do what we do before when the numbers of bags does not justify the no of Volunteers coming. We sincerely hope for your kind understanding.
Dear recepeints, thank you for your patience.
It's not an easy journey but your kind understanding while waiting for the bags is much appreciated. Alhamdulilah now that we have a collection centre, you may come and collect the bags instead - via appointment only.
How do we manage this coordination on such scale? It looks easy but nothing worth doing is easy....for that I am forever grateful to our dedicated and super flexible admins Sis Rahdzelah & Sis Zana whom without them the works behind the distribution will not have gone smoothly at all.
FTPC does not exist on its own. It existed because of love, prayers and support of one and all - the admins, the contributors, the volunteers and the recipients.... we can't have one without the others.
Thank you for your support
Thank you for your generosity
Thank you for your trust
With this we could conclude #FTP10 and announce the next campaign #FTP11 on Sunday 27th November 11am at Whampoa Estate.
We hope for your contribution and support to make this yet again a successful event. Further details will be out soon. Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
In life there will be moment you stumble...moments you get knock off your feet or even hv you face to the floor... Sometimes we stay there because we think we're are not worth it...because no one cares!
Juz imagine that in your darkest moment waiting to be ridicule and humiliated a friendly hand came by to give you that one pat in the back and whisper..." Try one more time!...you gonna get over this!
And this time you get it over and done with what you tried many times before..
So what is the difference?
Because you know there is someone out there who cares....for u.
Today we at #FTPC prepacked 20 bags of groceries and 3 family volunteers help to deliver them out.
Why so little? Well we couldn't do more. Not everyone came forward to share and it's understandable.
Some ask for our acct nbr - but Juz ask
Some ask how and what we do - but Juz ask
Some question how we do - but Juz ask
Anyway Juz looking at this video perhaps you might Juz think how a recepeints might feel...
Because you care ...they want to do better
Because you share...they want to come out of their plight faster
Because you understand...they feel noticed.
But will you care still?
Today we conclude the final 4 weeks of our distribution. A weekly delivery affairs for a small number of contributors.
Tomm onward we will start our new campaign!
What is it?
Thank u for caring & thanks to the families that helped out for today and the last 4 weeks!
Only Allah is the best disposer of all of our affairs. Alhamdulilah
Life can be overwhelming and sometimes we need to seek the inner child in us to start reconnecting to what matters the most in life.
The last few months have been a challenging period for us. Why? Do we not love what we do? So why the challenges?
'With love comes responsibility and with responsibility comes awareness' #aydanomous
Sometimes when you love something so much you want nothing but the best for it. We love ftpc so much. We know of its potential and we know of whom it have helped. We know. Since 2012 it have always been about 'Tangan Kanan Memberi and Tangan Kiri Tak Tahu' we are ol'skool like that. Does it work? Maybe. Sometimes people dun get us and they hurl abuse and criticism towards what we do...like...,
1. Are you sure you gave the groceries to the right people?
2. That family have been help by so many groups before yours!
3. How do we know whether they actually get the items...
It's just words...but it hurts. Because at the end we are just humans who is trying to connect the dots in life.
The last two months it's seem we have not been active...hv we fall off the radar? Did we no longer do this? When would the next distribution be? All this question comes thru sms, whatsapp and pms.
We thank you for those who care to ask. No we did not fall of the radar nor do we have closed #FTPC. In fact how do you stop doing what you love? Here what we do is more that just giving groceries, it's about hope, it's about camaderie, it's about caring for each other!...
But you need to take stock of what have been done so you can chart a better strategy forward.
That is what we have been doing the last months where we were quiet...we have restrategize so we can outreach to more...in sha Allah.
Does this mean we will give to more people?
Does it mean our distribution will be bigger and better?
Does it mean we will get more supporters and contributors and collaborators?
In the meantime we can't say much but please be assured that we are trying our best to give you the best...
Our promise to our contributors is to be #yourarminkindness to give out to others as what was given to us.
Our promise to our volunteers is to provide a space everyone can come together either packing or distributing under the blocks or straight to homes in manners that will still uphold the dignity of the recipients.
Our promise to our recipients is to ensure that help is given without any invasion of their privacy and violation of their dignity. For at the end it is us who is fortunate to have the opportunity to assist not the other way round.
Our promise to ourselves is to ensure to always be answerable for our actions and to our contributors, volunteers and recipients...for the critiques we love you but we do not need any demeaning remarks nor do we need skepticism, we do what we love from where we are and with what we have.
With that we are happy to announce that we have officially registered ftpc as a Company - FTPC SG LLP.
We have also receive our social enterprise status (we took this route because we cannot afford to register as a Society nor NGO)
So? What does this mean? It means that if previously you wonder if we are accountable for what you give us...we assure you that we do.
For a start for our contributors we can now issue receipts for every groceries bags purchased to be delivered to the recipients. Awesome right?
So for the delivery/distribution of groceries bags...that we have postponed last month to the 25th Sept ...do await the announcement tomm.
More things to share with all...but now need to rush off to work - YES we do hold down jobs to feed our families too... Till later ...Stay Tune! And #benice to everyone you meet, you wouldn't to now the challenges they have to go thru daily...
Sometimes we know there are people who is in need of help - it's an inborn instinct. But we choose to think n rethink until someone else steps in and we kick our selves for not acting fast enough. It doesn't not mean you don't care enough. It just mean you are being human....it's that lil extra courage that puts u on e extraordinary league...even if it's just helping an elderly board the bus....
Life is simple.. do not think too much. Certain aspects of it yes because it concern your future and family but you do not have to think too much to smile at others, hold out the lift for the old uncle to enter, pick up that piece of paper n trash it properly... it's the lil things that counts...
FTPC more than just a grocery distribution it's an idea that kindness us spreadable thru lil things that we do!
Do e succeed is propagating our ideas? Perhaps not entirely but we do know of some who does...and that is what matters to us. Doing charity is not a numbers game...but you do need the numbers alright but no...it's not always about the money.
Excited for the new FTPC reveal this coming 1st Sept? I know that we are. So stay tune!
#forthepeoplencommunity #yourarminkindness #2stepbackward4stepforward
It's always easier telling people what need to be done than doing it yourselves #aydanomous
Here are #FTPC we dun tell anyone what needs to be done without doing it ourselves first.
How do you know how hard it is if you don't try it out yourselves?
Being an introvert it's literally a pee in the pants kind of situation approaching total strangers and offering them food/groceries...but you do it because it's not about you...never was.
Being of service to others is about just that. Some will take advantage and some will ridicule your way but you do it anyway.
So it's a brand new week. Go out and do whatever sets your heart on fire....and be all there!
Hv a lovely week ahead peeps!
The things we take for granted....others is grateful to have it #aydanomous
Some people say the things we gave in the bag is redundant. Others gave more. Better items than us. Alhamdulillah.
In our bags you will find only essentials. Nothing fancy or heavy preservative items. Why? Because we believe firmly in #simplehonestfood.
We count on ur support. Always.
Different people have different meaning of success - Respect That!'
Maybe this is not the most appropriate video to share with you this blessed morning. But we share what we can with what we have from where we are.
Different people look at life differently. Some see a glass half full while some see it as half empty - my late mom will say the glass is too big, go and change to a more appropriate glass.. and people wonder sometimes why am I quirky ???
Respect is important.
We need to respect ourselves before we can accord it to others. Respect is not the feeling of being righteous. It is more of an awareness that you understand that you have limitations..
I for one like to push my limits. I want to see what is beyond that limitations. But I respect enough to know that as much as I can push myself I must respect others limitations. To each their own.
But one thing I hope and pray for that today all of us push beyond our limitations and heaps positivity and kind words to ourselves and others.
Because we are all worth it.
And if we feel we need to put ourselves or others down...let's push it to another day!
Life is such... a beautiful potential! #aydanomous
Btw we are 182bags away fm our goals for our #FTP7 distribution.
We look fwd to our support and love. Alhamdulillah.
#forthepeoplencommunity #yourarminkindness #reachingouttoothers
'Strong people do not exploit others. Strong people helps lift others up!' Varun Pruthi
Since Monday we have received SMS & Whatsapp by people asking when can they apply for our next grocery distribution. If they will be eligible. How much is the cost of the bags etc.
Our bags is constant at $25.00 per mth except in Ramadan at $30 & Syawal at $35.
Plus bear with us as we iron out some of our back end operations. Some may think easy what, juz collect and give...we wish it was that easy.
However we are thankful for contributors who understand our passion and drive.
We will always try to do more than what we can, more than what we have, to give from where we are.
Plus dua for us.
#yourarminkindness #forthepeoplencommunity #reachingouttoothers
In the chaotic noises of everyday lives...take a moment to be silent and you will be able to hear the cries for help and attention that you otherwise would not have heard #aydanomous
We are busy people by nature. We are not people of leisure by choice. Living in SG not everyone hv that luxury. So in our 'busyness' of living we sometimes forget that, there are people around who need helps. Who need attention. Who need tho be reminded that they matter.
So let's collectively reminds each other that they matters.
Like all of us.
You have supported us all this while.
We love you.
We love me.
We love us.
Because everyone have a role and every role have someone.
SO Go And Be A Hero of Kindness!
Final leg to reach our target soonest...
"Poverty exist in SG. It does. To say it doesnt and sweep it under the carpet is disillusioning oneself. There is no point trying to be the best in the eyes of the world...when your citizen still hv to rummage thru garbage to feed themselves" #aydanomous
Yesterday was quite a sad day. A friend tag us on fb saying one of our recepient cooks dinner using vegetable the husband picks up after an auntie throws it away outside of Giant. As much as help started pouring for this family, fingers started pointing too. This comes naturally. We immediately delivered some wet and dry food rations to this family.
Why wait until this stage to help? Why not earlier? Why #FTPC didnt put them on our carelist. Truthfully, we already did. They do received our grocery bags. However our grocery bags can only last between a week to 2 weeks and it only carries basic food items. No wet food ration.
It have always been our principle that you will never find instant noodles or other preservative laden foods in our bags no matter how cheap or how delicious they are. Thus we give what we give. We do what we can with what we have from where we are. ALWAYS.
Alhamdulillah collectively individuals and groups have started initiative to support this family.
However there is more like them around. This is not a one off thingy.
We have yet to reach half of our targetted numbers for our bags. And its only left 2 weeks to go!
Will we be able to get this done? Will we be able to help 500 families for their 1 to 2 weeks of meal for Ramadhan?
Support our cause if you feel us. Share with friends n families and come forward to contribute to make up the numbers of bags.
Alone we can only do so much. Together we may do wonders!
Have a Wonderful Wednesday ya'll!
#FTPCSoulOfRamadhan #WeCareBecaseWeCan #CharityIsCheap
When there is love.. there is no judgement
When there is care.. we become curious creature #aydanomous
Sometimes you cant help but wonder.. what is the real stories of those who is willing to queue for the grocery bags monthly. What help are they getting and what more is needed to bring them out of this situations.
You cant help not being curious. However there is a thin line between curious and judgemental. How we handle that is a reflection of our capacity as human beings. Help as sincerely as you can.
128 bags more to go to reach our target to distribute at Blk 32/33 Bendemeer Rd on 31st Jan 2016. Will you assist us to reach our target?
May everyone hv a great day ahead! Alhamdulilah
